On Friday, November 10th, 2023, the Antiochian community gathered to attend the Antiochian Archdiocese Annual Dinner. His Eminence Metropolitan Basilios was in attendance and opened the evening with a prayer. All NSW churches and a number of VIC parishioners were represented on the evening.
The night focused on the achievements over the last 24 months and reflected on the exciting opening of the St Nicholas Senior Care Centre. A beautiful dedication to Saint Nicholas was performed by representatives of the Saint Kassiani Choir and a number of musical performances guaranteed for a memorable evening.
The highlight of the evening was the key address by His Eminence Metropolitan Basilios as he shared the blessed news of the newly announced Sainthood of Saints Nicholas and Habib Kasha of Damascus. His Eminence remembered our fellow brothers and sisters in our homelands and focused on the importance of unity during these difficult times. He also spoke of the growth of the archdiocese across NSW and VIC with the opening of the St Nicholas Senior Care Centre in Punchbowl and the mission church in North Melbourne. He ended by thanking his beloved Archdiocese and all who work tirelessly for the cultivation of this community.
In return this night allowed the Antiochian community to show our love and appreciation to our chief shepherd, His Eminence Metropolitan Basilios as he has humbly and selflessly served his flock. We thank you Your Eminence for ensuring the success of this blessed Archdiocese and its people.
May God grant you many years, Master!
