| With the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Basilios, the ‘Being An Orthodox Christian’ (BAOC) celebration and liturgy was held on Saturday 4th July at the Nativity of the Theotokos, Mays Hill.
The divine liturgy, presided over by His Eminence Metropolitan Basilios, celebrated the achievement of the students who have completed the 8-week Being An Orthodox Christian program. 42 students from year 3 & 4 completed the program in 2026, and these students and their families attended the divine liturgy and were gifted a certificate of completion and a bible as a blessing from His Eminence Metropolitan Basilios. H.E also expressed his gratitude to the parents for their dedication in supporting their children in learning about the sacramental life of the church and encouraged the children to continue to learn about their faith and practice it daily by reading scripture and praying. At the conclusion of the liturgy, the children received their certificates and bibles and took a group photo with the clergy, teachers and parents. After the photo, all attendees made their way to the hall to cut a cake and share in fellowship. The children then had the opportunity to share their work with His Eminence Metropolitan Basilios and the clergy who were present. They enjoyed cake and fruit and met new friends from among the parishes. It was a wonderful and heartfelt evening!
