On the 5th & 6th of December 22, the Church and the community of St Nicholas Church, Punchbowl celebrated the feast day of their patron saint, St. Nicholas the wonderworker.
The Vespers and Divine Liturgy were presided over by H.E. Metropolitan Basilios with the Rev. Clergy from our Churches in NSW.
H.E. Metropolitan Basilios made the announcement that the name of the newly built aged care facility next to St Nicholas church will hold the name: St. Nicholas Seniors Care Centre.
St Nicholas the wonderworker was a defender of the Orthodox faith, also he was known for his charity, even though he carefully concealed his charitable works, fulfilling the words of the Lord: Let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth (Matthew 6:3).
