The faithful Community will gathers to witness the Ordination of Deacon Theophan Nahas to Holy Priesthood.

With immense gratitude to God and the blessing of His Eminence, Metropolitan Basilios, the faithful community is cordially invited to witness the ordination of Deacon Theophan Nahas to the Holy Priesthood. This anticipated event will take place on Sunday, June 4th, 2023, at St. George Cathedral in Redfern.

The day of the ordination will begin with Matins at 9:00 am, followed by the Divine Liturgy and the Holy Ordination. The faithful are urged to participate in this special occasion, offering their fervent prayers and heartfelt support to the soon-to-be ordained priest.

Deacon Theophan Nahas has been serving in the Archdiocese since his ordination to the Diaconate on the Sunday of Orthodoxy in 2019. Since then, he has tirelessly served alongside His Eminence, Metropolitan Basilios, fulfilling his duties with the utmost devotion. He has also been actively involved in various Archdiocese commitments, such as the Church School’s Department and the SPOCE adult education program.

Deacon Theophan Nahas has distinguished himself in his studies at St. Andrew’s Greek Orthodox Theological College, enrolling in the Master of Theology program. His final research thesis is a thoughtful analysis of the Trinitarian Doctrine as a ‘mystery of love’ and the extent to which this can be applied to the social ethic of love. The result of his diligent research and deep contemplation will undoubtedly inform his ministry and his future service to the Orthodox faithful.

As Deacon Theophan Nahas prepares for his ordination to the Holy Priesthood, the Orthodox community extends its love and prayers to him and his family. We rejoice in this significant moment, which will see Deacon Theophan Nahas take on an even greater role in serving the faithful. May God continue to bless him and his family as they embark on this new journey of spiritual service.
