Background

Deacon Theophan Nahas was ordained into Diaconate on the Sunday of Orthodoxy 2019. Since this time, he has served as a Deacon of the Archdiocese, often accompanying His Eminence Metropolitan Basilios in his travels, as well as administering to the needs of the growing Parish of St John the Baptist in Croydon Park.

He has completed further studies in higher education at St Andrew’s Greek Orthodox Theological College, by enrolling into the Master of Theology course. He is just in the process of completing his final Research Thesis, which involves an analysis of the Trinitarian Doctrine being a ‘mystery of love’ and the extent to which this can justifiably be applied to the social ethic of love.

He remains heavily involved in other Archdiocese commitments, in particular serving as a clerical advisor to the Church School’s Department, as well as helping in facilitating theology courses and lessons as part of the St Paul’s adult education program (SPOCE) and has also been a long serving member of the Archdiocese St Kassiani Byzantine Choir group.

May he continue to serve with zeal in the vineyard of the Lord, alongside his growing family, which consists of his wife Catherine, daughter Apollinaria & son Zachariah.
