On Thursday 21st November, the St Kassiani Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese Choir, under the patronage of His Eminence Metropolitan Basilios, held its first official concert, titled: “To the Theotokos…” at St Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church in Punchbowl.
The concert featured chants from the Archdiocese choir’s first CD release of the same title, also launched that very evening and the new and very catchy theme song of the Choir: The Anthem to St Kassiani.
The event was a special milestone for the young choir and was enjoyed by all, with many parishioners confessing to being brought to tears by some of the more emotional pieces.
His Eminence Metropolitan Basilios, in his address to the choir thanked them for their dedication and hard work on the project, saying that they had set a high expectation of things to come and that he looked forward to many more concerts and CD releases in the future.
The CD “To the Theotokos…” features 14 tracks dedicated to the Virgin Mary, in both English and Arabic, and is available for sale from your local Parish bookstore.
