“Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honour. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord”- Romans 12:10-11
ACOY Victoria held its first 25+ fellowship night on Friday the 23rd of June. Finding supportive Christ-centred friendships is invaluable in a world where young adults face numerous challenges and responsibilities. Recognizing this need, the ACOY set out to create an inviting space designed to reconnect and fulfil the spiritual needs of young adults distant from parish life.
It served as a welcoming event that invites young adults from all Antiochian parishes in Melbourne to rediscover and strengthen their spiritual journey. By fostering an atmosphere of warmth and inclusivity, the fellowship night sought to forge new friendships based on shared values. This nurturing environment allows young adults to explore their faith, seek guidance, and find solace in a community that understands and supports their unique experiences.
By sharing stories, testimonials, and real-life experiences, the event encouraged participants, especially youth and those distanced from parish life, to reflect on their journeys and rediscover their unique purpose. The fellowship night nurtured a sense of responsibility, inspiring young adults to make a positive impact in their churches and the wider world.
Following the success of this event ACOY will aim to provide more avenues to foster more events for this age group to come together to connect and grow in their spiritual faith. Through fellowship and exchanging ideas, participants are equipped with the tools and inspiration to overcome challenges and pursue their faith.
