This week is Harmony Week, where we celebrate the diverse cultures and customs of people worldwide. St John the Baptist Antiochian Orthodox Arabic School in Croydon Park, participated in various activities to celebrate the diversity of our community.
The session began with Mr Albaba leading a discussion about harmony and how it relates to our daily Christian values, of treating others how you want to be treated. The Arabic students shared stories and experiences about their cultures. They also decorated the flags of their cultural heritage, consisting of a mixture of Australians, New Zealanders, Italians, Lebanese, Syrians and Egyptians. We found ourselves to be a very multicultural group.
St John the Baptist Arabic school is every Friday from 5-7 pm.
