On Saturday 27th August 2022, H.E Metropolitan Basilios with the clergy of the Archdiocese celebrated the vespers service in St Nicholas church-Bankstown, and on the next day morning Sunday 28th, H.E. Metropolitan Basilios with Fr. Mitko and another Clergy of our archdiocese celebrated the Matins and the Consecration Service of the church by setting the holy relics of St. Theodore the commander in the Holy table and anointing it with the Holy myrrh, then anointing the four corners of the church and lighting the oil candle of the holy table followed by a celebration of the Divine Liturgy.
After that, a followership and meal of agape were prepared by the parish council and members of the St Nicholas congregation.
Parishioners from all our churches in NSW participated in this significant and important event.
