Under the patronage and attendance of His Eminence Metropolitan Basilios. The Bible Study group of St Thekla equal to the Apostles and St Silouan the Athonite had their Annual retreat from the 12-13th March at the Monastery of St Michael in Goulburn. Supervised by Archimandrite Ephram and Fr Romanos, the group had a spiritually uplifting weekend.
His Eminence delivered a lecture about the Orthodox Church in general and how one can live the faith in particular according to the commandments.
Archimandrite Ephram spoke about Sunday of Orthodoxy and the restoration of the icons. Fr Romanos shed a light on salvation through faith and works according to the epistle of St James.
Besides the various sessions, Gospel and spiritual competitions were very well attended with a good contest among the attendees. The group was very grateful for the prayerful ambience with the Lenten services including the Divine Liturgy celebrating Sunday of Orthodoxy. Many of the new faces who attended this year expressed their sincere thanks and gratitude to Sayedna and to the clergy who organised such a successful camp on many levels.
At the conclusion, the participants received a holy icon in the hope that this Great Holy Lent is acceptable to Him.
