His Eminence Metropolitan Basilios of Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines visited St Elias Church Adelaide on the 28th of July 2023.
The weekend was full of engagements attended by his Eminence. Firstly, conducting a meeting with our youth group and emphasising the importance of the church in our Christian life, and advising them to build a relationship with the Lord through His Word (The Gospel) and through taking part of the Divine Liturgy. This was followed by a detailed meeting with the parish council; topics included our spiritual life, and current and future project developments occurring within our church.
Great turnout on Sunday for the CONSECRATION OF THE NEW HOLY TABLE. His Eminence, alongside Abouna Georges conducted the CONSECRATION before the first Devin Liturgy taking place on it. The relics of St George the Trophy-bearer was sealed in the centre of the Holy Table.
The St Elias parish council with Abouna Georges would like to extend their gratitude to his Eminence for his love, support and paternal guidance and to all the Parishioners for making this possible.
