Christ is Risen!
On the eve of Monday the 24th of April, ACOY Victoria commenced their annual ‘ACOY Month’ series on the ‘Eothina Gospels’ with a general introduction into the 11 Resurrection Gospels in Matins, presented by His Eminence Metropolitan Basilios.
The evening began with an opening prayer by Sayedna, a welcoming word by ACOY Victoria Chairperson Sara Elbazi, and was followed by a beautiful selection of Paschal hymns chanted by the St Ephraim the Syrian choir of Melbourne.
His Eminence then began the talk and highlighted the significance of the Resurrection and each account in the Gospels, as well as distinguishing that Christians are the only people of faith who celebrate an empty tomb as a sign of victory over death through Christ.
Sayedna encouraged all 100 people in attendance to continue learning about the faith and commended them for all their efforts before being presented with a gift on behalf of ACOY Victoria. The evening concluded with fellowship and light refreshments.
With a strong start to ACOY month, we look forward to the weeks ahead and the journey through the Resurrection.
We are eternally grateful for the love, guidance and presence of our Chief Shepherd Sayedna Basilios and pray that God will grant him many fruitful years.
