The weekend saw us embracing the blessing bestowed upon us, by our dearest Theotokos, as she commenced the journey towards our salvation – the feast of the Annunciation. It was at this moment that the Ever-Virgin Mary through the Annunciation revealed the “incarnation” of the Eternal God.
On Saturday, March 25, St Mary’s Church of the Annunciation – Melbourne commenced the celebration with a vesper service, whereby Clergy and parishioners from all parishes joined together to chant aloud,
“Today is the beginning of our salvation, the revelation of the eternal mystery! The Son of God becomes the Son of the Virgin, as Gabriel announces the coming of Grace.”
Together with him let us cry to the Theotokos:
“Hail, O Full of Grace, the Lord is with You!”
On the following day, with the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Basilios, the Feast was celebrated in full form.
The wonderful ladies, who continue to look up to the Theotokos as their role model, took it in their stride to put on a wonderful complimentary cocktail spread for all to share in the celebration of our Church’s feast Day and the fact that the Church had paid off the loan.
May our beloved Theotokos continue to comfort and lead us on the correct path.
