On the evening of the 23rd of June 2022, a Vespers service was held in commemoration of the Nativity of St John the Baptist. It was presided over by His Eminence Metropolitan Basilios and in attendance were also a number of clergy and faithful from within our Archdiocese.
It was a great blessing to ask for the intercessions of such a profound saint, such as John the Baptist, who in the hymns of the Church is called “an angel on earth and a man in heaven”. This was one of the points along with many others discussed by His Eminence Basilios at the end of the service.
Indeed, it was a solemn and prayerful evening! Glory to God for all things!
