The Antiochian Archdiocese held the annual HSC commemoration event on Thursday 24th February 2022. It is the fourth year of this event, which commemorates the students from the Archdiocese who completed their Higher School certificate in the prior year.
Approximately 24 students were present along with their parents, siblings, clergy members and some church schoolteachers. Crystal and Jasmine, two of the HSC recipients spoke about their HSC journey in 2021 and how their faith in Jesus Christ helped them keep their stress manageable. His Eminence Metropolitan Basilios gave the students an inspiring talk about the importance of making time into their future to serve in the church in some capacity. The students had a chance to express themselves and explain the added challenges they faced during the pandemic. His Eminence asked them questions and several students were happy to share their future plans. The 2021 HSC students received a gift from His Eminence Basilios including an icon of Christ the Teacher, a prayer rope, a notebook and pen and a prayer book. The families enjoyed some cake and refreshments following the ceremony to celebrate their HSC accomplishments.
It was a beautiful evening, and the parents were overjoyed that the Archdiocese showed love and support to their children.
Congratulations HSC students of 2021! We wish you every success and happiness in the future.
