October was a busy month for the children and young adults of our Archdiocese, as many were eager to participate in the AWA Creative Challenge 2021. AWA received a range of creative submissions from 5–25 years old, including video and voice recordings, illustrations, poems, prayers, and reflections from members of various NSW parishes.
On Thursday 11th of November 2021. St. Michael’s Antiochian Orthodox Church in Kirrawee held a Vespers service for St. John the Merciful – Patriarch of Alexandria, who is the Patron Saint of AWA. St John is well known for welfare and charity.
After the Vespers service all participants received a Certificate of Participation and a prize during a presentation ceremony, commending the effort and participation of those involved in the creative challenge.
AWA would like to thank all parents and participants. Also, AWA would like to thank Multicultural NSW for their funding to run this great intuitive.
This special edition of the AWA Newsletter features some of the submissions that were sent in by our families from the Archdiocese, sharing their experiences of 2021 – AWA Newsletter – 2021 – Vol 01 Issue 13.
This project was an initiative of AWA and funded by Multicultural NSW.
