On Monday the 5th of April, over 100 faithful parishioners from St Paul’s Parish in Dandenong Victoria, traveled to the Dandenong Mountains to embark on a Lenten Journey through the Olinda Arboretum Gardens.
Lead by St Priscilla and Aquila Family Ministry committee members, the challenging but highly rewarding 5km walking journey provided the young and young at heart, an opportunity to bond and support each other, whilst admiring the peaceful surroundings and beautiful views.
Along the journey, Father Jean Mawal also provided the group with two spiritual reflections on Psalms 104 and 90 which prompted everyone to appreciate and reflect on the beauty of God’s creation, as well as reflect on where we are headed in our lives and what does our personal eternity look like. A fitting reflection for our midway point through lent as we journey to the resurrection.
Following the tiresome yet enjoyable 2 hour trek, the group sat down together to enjoy a well-deserved picnic lunch and enjoy each other’s company. With thanks and glory to God, the day was a huge success and an activity that will likely become an annual event for St Paul’s Parish.
