Antiochian Welfare Association (AWA) hosts its first training course.

Antiochian Welfare Association (AWA) has facilitated its first course –Youth Mental Health First Aid.

With His Eminence Basilios blessing, AWA ran the first training course on Saturday 20 March 2021.

15 participants from all Antiochian Orthodox churches in NSW attended this course. The course focused on mental health issues with young people. It enabled participants to be equipped and qualified to understand mental health issues, identify the risks, and how to deal with the situations.

AWA is very proud of our qualified team who will be able to assist the need of our young people and be helpful to support them in our parishes.

All participants will receive accreditation as Youth Mental Health First Aiders for a period of 3 years, we now have 15 qualified Youth Mental Health First Aiders to support our Antiochian parishes.
