On the 19th of December, Saint Mary’s Antiochian Orthodox Church of the Dormition held its annual Christmas Day retreat for its Sunday School students.
The day began celebrating the Divine Liturgy, assisted by the Sunday School choir and altar boys. During his sermon, Fr. Isaac Zghaib explained the meaning and symbolism in the Icon of the Nativity of Christ.
Following the Liturgy, a meal was shared, and the children enjoyed a variety of activities such as handball, face painting and the jumping castle.
Shortly after, the Sunday School students gathered together, each making an ornament and learning some Nativity chants from the sacred hymnography of the Church.
The day concluded with gifts being given to each student registered for the year.
