H.E. Metropolitan Basilios visits the Parliament of Victoria

On Friday 11^th of December during his pastoral visit to our Churches in Victoria, H.E. Metropolitan Basilios paid a visit to the Parliament of Victoria where he met the President of the Legislative Council, the Hon. N.  Elasmar MLC.

During the meeting, His Eminence expressed many serious concerns on behalf of the Antiochian Archdiocese, especially on the last Bill “Change or Suppression (Conversion) Practices Prohibition Bill 2020” and the ramifications and damage this Bill will have on religious freedom and parents’ rights.

His Eminence hopes there will be a positive conclusion to this matter and prays that a wise decision will be made whereby this Bill will not pass.
