On February 21st 2020, Brigadier General Milad Ishaq, accompanied by his wife and Councillor George Zakhia (of Canterbury-Bankstown Council), visited the Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese.
Welcoming them into his residency, His Eminence congratulated the Inspector-General on his new position, expressing appreciation and respect for the Lebanese Army and the military establishments for their sacrifices in keeping public order and peace. He acknowledged the General’s sacrifices – being from a family who honourably served in their nation, and the father and brother who gave their lives in service.
As a gesture of appreciation for His Eminence, General Milad presented him with a shield of the Lebanese Army, and in return, His Eminence presented the General with an icon and Archdiocese commemorative plate.
Wishing General Milad a good service in his position, His Eminence prayed for God’s protection over the Lebanese army, civil authorities, and a quick and peaceful resolution to the situation in Lebanon. Furthermore, that our Lord enlightens Lebanon’s leaders towards the best path for the country, upholding the best interests of the nation and its people, to His glory.
