In July of this year, with the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Basilios Kodseie, St. John The Baptist Antiochian Orthodox Church in Croydon Park established an Arabic School for primary aged students. Classes were run every Friday afternoon from 5-6:30pm in the Church.
On Friday the 20th of December, the Arabic School held its annual graduation ceremony and offered certificates and Christmas gifts to all the students registered for the year. Volunteers also received certificates of appreciation for their continued efforts and in grateful recognition of their time, dedication and commitment.
The ceremony began with prayer lead by Fr. Elias Albaba and Dn. Theophan Nahas followed by a theatrical performance (Arabic Christmas Carols) performed by the students. Afterwards, a fellowship dinner was held in celebration of this great event.
May the upcoming year provide our parish and this amazing initiative much success and growth as we continue glorifying and praising God with one voice and with one heart. Amen.
