Under the Patronage of His Eminence, Metropolitan Basilios Kodseie, the Antiochian Orthodox Stewards (AOS) held their annual retreat at the Antiochian Village in Goulburn from Friday the 11th – Sunday the 13th of October 2019.
The Stewards gathered together for a great weekend filled with band practice, spiritual discussions, and fellowship activities and games. AOS retreat allows our stewards bond over Christian Orthodox fellowship. AOS’ mission aims to preserve, practice and proclaim the Orthodox Christian faith in order to Glorify God through the Stewardship Program.
We were blessed with spiritual talks from Rev. Fr. Romanos Al Baba on the importance of keeping the orthodox faith alive in our everyday lives. To continually nourish and cleanse our souls through confession. We were also humbled to have a discussion to conclude the retreat, presented by Sister Virginia from the Antiochian Village, who enlightened us all on the power of prayer and how it can improve the quality of our lives with God walking beside our spiritual path, specifically the Jesus Prayer.
This year’s stewards also came together for the highly anticipated annual Talent Show whereby each group of stewards got to showcase their unique talents for an evening of fun and entertainment. We are all very blessed to be able to unite as one in Christ’s name.
We are very grateful to His Eminence, Metropolitan Basilios for his suppory and constant encouragement, for our spiritual director Rev. Fr. Romanos for his tireless effort and advice. Our sincere thanks and gratitude to Rev. Fr. Lawrence and Sister Virginia and all the volunteers who assisted in making the weekend such a great success.
