On Monday 17th June 2019, St. Raphael’s Mission was blessed by the visit of His Eminence Metropolitan Basilios, the spiritual director of SRM, accompanied by the Honourable John Sidoti, New South Wales Minister for Sport, Multiculturalism, Seniors and Veterans to join us to feed the homeless.
Battling the elements, His Eminence & the Honourable John Sidoti, served foods to the less fortunate and continued to do so as the weather turned and the rain fell.
The Hon. John Sidoti spoke to the homeless individuals and was excited to find out more about SRM. We were able to share with him how the Mission started and how it has grown over the last 7 years, highlighting the number of people we have helped so far was almost 33,000.
The minister was surprised by the facts shared and how much we had achieved through community support. He thanked us for our services and left thinking of ways he could help us.
We would like to thank both our father and chief shepherd, His Eminence and the Hon. John Sidoti for taking time out of their busy schedules to join us and we look forward to the ongoing relationship.
