On Tuesday 26th February, a Vesper service was held under the patronage of His Eminence Metropolitan Basilios at St Michael & Gabriel Church in Ryde to celebrate the feast day of St Raphael of Brooklyn; Patron Saint of St Raphael’s Mission.
At the conclusion of the service, His Eminence spoke of St Raphael’s Mission now in its 7th year of operation, the dedication of the Board and thanked all those in the community that supported, and continue to support, St Raphael’s Mission through volunteering or donation of time, money, food & resources. This was followed by Certificates of Appreciation and small gifts being presented to those who have been donating food or their services on a weekly or monthly basis.
His Eminence gifted all in attendance with a customised keyring on behalf of St Raphael’s Mission as a gesture of their gratitude and thanks to the community for their continued support. It is with this support that St Raphael’s Mission hopes to continue to grow and help more people in our community. Like St Raphael of Brooklyn, we pray St Raphael’s Mission continues to be a friend and helper to all, now and for generations to come.
