On Saturday, November 10th, ACOY (the Antiochian Christian Orthodox Youth) Committee, held the annual Saint John Chrysostom Day Retreat, titled, “The Pursuit of Happiness”.
The conference was held at Saint Elias, Wollongong, beginning with a beautiful Liturgy in the morning preceding the day’s events. The first talk was conducted by His Eminence, Metropolitan Basilios, who discussed the idea of happiness and explored what happiness means to each individual.
The second talk of the day was given by Deacon Phillip, who spoke about our identity, our purpose in life and how this ties in with our happiness.
Following these talks, the youth were able to apply the knowledge they acquired, by exploring the pursuit of happiness in the lives of the Saints of the Antiochian Church. It was an incredibly blessed and inspiring day for all the youth who attended. The day was filled with amazing spiritual insight, fellowship and the spirit of Christ.
