Christ is Risen. Truly He is Risen Once more the Christian world is celebrating the joy of their risen Lord. Every year, the religious celebration is taking a new meaning. The war by atheistic secularism, with its serious attempts to eliminate the Christian Church through print, theatre, arts, commercial items etc, is getting stronger everyday, under the guise of 'freedom of speech'. Atheistic Secularism is ridiculing the symbols of the Faith and denigrating them. The selling of sandals with the sign of the cross on them, underwear with the picture of Jesus Christ, and lately the caricatures of the Prophet Mohammad, are but a few examples of the many attempts by which atheistic secularism is trying to kill the spirit and the joy, the peacefulness and moral foundations, of the religious. What is required from each and every believer is to take his/her faith seriously. First, to practice the Faith in their every day life, and second to learn as much as possible about their Faith. Then, and only then, we and our faith will be able to face the attack against our faith and will witness to the saying of Saint Paul in 2 Corinthians 5:17. 'Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things are passed away, behold all things are become new.' And in Saint Paul’s Epistle to the Romans (6:4) 'That like as Christ was raised up from the dead…even so we also should walk in newness of life, that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.' (Romans 7:6) Metropolitan Archbishop Paul Saliba
