1 Clergy Arrangements

Very Reverend Archpriest Father Nicolas Mansour, after serving as Parish Priest and Dean of the Cathedral in Sydney for 41 years, has retired from full-time service. As a result, His Eminence has appointed Very Reverend Father George Nasr, the pastor of Saint George Thornbury in Melbourne, as the new Dean of Clergy of the Archdiocese.

We thank Father Nicolas who has represented the Clergy very well and with dedication.

Father Nicolas will be assisting His Eminence in the Headquarters, and on occasions at the parishes in Sydney.

2 Clergy Education Fund

Saint George Cathedral Redfern, Sydney, has established a new tradition in the history of our Archdiocese.

The Cathedral had set aside an amount of $30,000 for an Endowment Fund to help pay for the mission & education of the Clergy.

The Archdiocese will use the interest received from the Endowment Fund for the future mission and education of clergy for the Archdiocese.

We pray that more financially able members & churches will contribute to the Endowment Fund.

The future of our Archdiocese on this continent and in New Zealand depend on what we sow today.

To the Faithful of Saint George Cathedral, His Eminence gives his blessing and says a heartfelt : Thanks.

3 Board of Trustees met in October 2005

The Board of Trustees of the Archdiocese convened at Saint George Cathedral Redfern, Sydney, from Friday 28th October 2005 to Sunday 31st October 2005.

Some of the topics discussed & decided were:

A - Opening two schools
B - Opening a home for the aging - Melbourne.
C - Purchasing three properties at Punchbowl for building a home for the aging in the future.
D - incorporating the NSW churches.
E - Deal mainly with one bank & establish a credit line.
F - Increase the number of theology students.
G - Report detailing the finances of the Archdiocese.
H - Report detailing the activities & plans for the future of the youth of the Archdiocese.
I - Report informing the members about the theology studies in Australia (Sydney & Melbourne)
J - Next Board meeting to be held from 10th to 12th February 2006, at Saint Nicholas Church, East Melbourne.
